Mam do Capella Savaria ogromny sentyment - to była w zasadzie moja pierwsza 'dawna' orkiestra, pierwsze winylowe płyty Hungarotonu z 'dawną muzyką'. McGegan - podobnie - jedne z pierwszych nagrań handlowskich. Ale .. to jest jedna z najsłabszych oper Handla, i wcale nie libretto jest największym problemem. A to nagranie jest najzwyczajniej koszmarne! Wyeksponowane rozedrgane soprany! Bolą uszy, a muzyka jest na tyle mierna, że niczego nie rekompensuje.
I pomyśleć, że dokładnie po 20 latach - to nagranie pochodzi z 1985 roku - McGegan nagrał 'Atalantę' na nowo ze swoją PBO na koncercie w Berkeley.... I jeszcze jeden cytat:
